Away In The Tennengau

🆚 SV Kuchl v FC Pinzgau Saalfelden
🏆 Salzburg Regional League Matchday 17
🏟️ Andreas Wimmer Arena
🕖 October 30, 2022 (14:00 CET) 🇦🇹 (8:00am EDT) 🇺🇸

After three wins in a row recently, FC Pinzgau Saalfelden is heading into our final away match this calendar year against SV Kuchl.
On the Pinzgauer, an always contested game awaits as the Tennengauer are currently on the upswing and the form curve since the takeover of Thomas Hofer shows steeply upward. This was also seen recently in the SFV-Landescup eighth final on Thursday: After trailing 1:3 against league rival SC Golling, the Kuchler turned the game in their favor and moved 5:3 into the next round.

Opposition
Founded in 1954, SV Kuchl spent their early existence languishing in the lower leagues and even lost 23-0 to ASK Salzburg – still a club-record defeat to this day – shortly after their formation.
SVK did win four lower-league titles in the 40 years that followed, but the most successful chapters of their history came after the turn of the millennium, gaining promotion to the Salzburger Liga, the fourth tier, in 2010 courtesy of a 7-3 victory over SV Schwarzach in the relegation/promotion play-off, going-up to the newly-created Regionalliga Salzburg in 2019.

Team News
Benjamin Hutter will join Felix Adjei and Ratan Dudaew in missing the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his ankle, which he suffered in the match against SV Austria Salzburg. Lukas Moosmann is suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card.

Statement
“Kuchl is a team that is always dangerous. Under Thomas Hofer the curve shows steeply upward. The success in the Cup, after one was already 1:3 behind, has certainly given them once again a proper motivation injection. A young, hungry squad is waiting for us, which will have a stable foundation thanks to its two veterans. But we don’t need to hide, we’re also in a very good phase. We want to play to our strengths again, which will be necessary if we want to take something home. We believe in our chance and will pursue our goal consistently.”

Head-To-Head
Our last six matches are level with each winning three as another six pointer is on the cards. Watch for the duel upfront with Semir Gvozdjar and his ten goals against Mario Lürzer’s nine.
