It was a true heartbeat final last Saturday with a happy ending for FC Pinzgau Saalfelden. In a thrilling finish sprint secured the Mannschat of Markus Fürstaller the last ticket for the Westliga and can thus also plan early for the 2023/24 season.
In 2020, Tandari & Co. had already won the ticket for the season finale with the best two teams from Tyrol and Vorarlberg, but the Corona pandemic put a spanner in the works. True to the motto “postponed is not abandoned”, they will make up for it in the next few weeks.
After an impressive series of ten games without defeat – nine of them victories – the Pinzgauer, even if in the end only three goals decided in their favor, go with a broad chest into the opening game next Saturday. Thereby the table second of the regional league Salzburg guests with the league competitor BSK 1933. The duels with the Pongauern were in the past always exciting and a certain explosiveness was faithful companion.
In October 2022, the commanding 3-0 home victory against the Bischofshofeners not only marked the start of Markus Fürstaller’s coaching comeback, but also the beginning of an impressive series. And this is now to be continued at the start of the season.

STATEMENT
“Things have been going really well for us in recent weeks. We now want to take this momentum into the Westliga. This means that we want to start in Bischofshofen and create a good basis for the rest of the season. We have a lot of self-confidence and are optimistic that we will be able to collect a lot of points in this round as well. The minimum goal is the title of national champion. In the next 10 games we will gain a lot of experience and learn our lessons for the fall. We have no pressure and can play free on it.”
