FC Pinzgau Saalfelden 0 Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz 1 (0:1)
Goal: Monteiro de Andrade (17.)
FC Pinzgau Saalfelden had to give in to Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz on Saturday afternoon despite a spirited performance just 0:1.
Despite numerous absences, Tandari & Co. sold themselves dearly in the 1508 SaalfeldenArena against the title favorites Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz. From the start, the game went back and forth. The home side held up well, but were forced to concede an unnecessary goal in the 17th minute by Gabryel Monteira de Andrade – the only chance the visitors had to score in the first half. Markus Fürstaller’s team then had three good opportunities, all of which came to nothing. The best chance was missed by Joao Pedro from a short angle just before the break.
The level remained high and fast-paced in the second half, which was characterized by a lot of tactics. The Pinzgauers invested a lot against a strong Bregenz team, but were not rewarded for their efforts in the end. As in the first leg, it set against Vorarlberger a narrow and unfortunate 0:1 defeat.
Statement
“Very unfortunate. In the end, it was very similar to our first encounter. We played a very good game, presented ourselves really well and didn’t let it get us down despite a few absences. The game was very tactical today and we played pleasingly. However, we lacked the final punch on the offensive. There were only really good scoring chances in the first half, when we were 3:1 ahead. In the end, however, it was again not enough for points, that’s the realization of the day,” Markus Fürstaller draws a first conclusion immediately after the game.
Lineup
