Trio join FC Pinzgau Saalfelden

Alhassan Nupaya, Godswill Vadze and Erasmus Adjei move to Europe for first time

After Sota Kitahara and Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez returned to their parent club, MLS side Seattle Sounders, following the end of their loan spell in December, things were quiet on the transfer front for much of the winter break – until two midfielders, Arnold Benedek and Lukas Herzog, joined FC Pinzgau Saalfelden last week.

On the last day of the current transfer window, FCPS can now confirm a further three newcomers to our squad for the spring campaign. Erasmus Adjei, an 18-year-old central defender and the younger brother of Felix, joins along with a duo from Ghana’s Shooting Stars FC – Alhassan Nupaya and Godswill Vadze. The signing of Nupaya and Vadze represents a test run for a long-term cooperation between Shooting Stars FC and FC Pinzgau Saalfelden.

All three players will be given the opportunity to find their feet in the Regionalliga over the coming weeks and to get used to life in Europe.

“We’re pleased that we’ve been able to make some additions on the last day of the transfer window. That will of course help us for the spring. Our mission is to integrate the three boys as quickly as possible and support them as best we can as they make this important step. They will train with us normally and get a taste of the Regional League. We’ll see where the journey will take us in the next few weeks – we’ll let it unfold before us,” explained FCPS coach Christian Ziege.

“We’re happy that our two players can join FC Pinzgau Saalfelden. Of course, the pair of them want to make the most of their opportunity, arrive as quickly as possible and perform. We’re convinced that Saalfelden offers our club the perfect platform when it comes to taking the first step in Europe. Christian Ziege is a professional who has a very high standing internationally,” explained Isaac Ansah, Vice President of Shooting Stars FC.
